Sometimes when I'm anxiously scribbling, I like to see each line as a vein as its own. And each vein has ink that bleeds when it's cut. Bleeding from the sharp point of my pen nib; sucks the ink dry and spatters all over the canvas.
Some few months ago, I was really into making things art nouveau-like involving a lot of tedious effort to make patterns, little details, and almost-perfect lines.
Just in time on halloween. Here's some things for you all to look at!
Originally, this was an assignment to make a new book cover for our favorite author/book. I chose Scary Stories wirtten by Alvin Schwartz, with beautiful illustrations by Stephen Gammell. My goal was to get that same feeling of horror when looking at Gammell's drawings. Have I succeeded?
Would be about the appropriate time I made the majority of these sketches. A year later, I decide to finally upload them (great job).

Also- a complete new design for my blog! Much prettier than before.
Edit- maybe a bit too green? Makes me think of puke. But green happens to be one of my favorite colors. I'm conflicted with ugliness and favorite colors. Oh well.
Made kind of on a whim a few months ago while riding on an airplane back to Ohio. Sky-viewing gives a lot to leave to the imagination. That's why I always get the window seat. Of course, plane-riding at night is way more epic.
From my recently-filled sketchbook. Filling up sketchbooks is exciting but it kind of sends you into a whirlwind vortex when you realize you have to start with a new unfamiliar sketchbook. And trying to draw that first page in your brand new sketchbook is seriously nerve-wrecking.
